ABOUT SORIG KHANG SINGAPORE

Sorig Khang Singapore (formally ATTM Singapore) is the Singapore branch of Sorig Khang International. ‘Sorig’ is the derivative name of Sowa Rigpa, the native term for Traditional Tibetan and Himalayan Medicine. And ‘Khang’ means house.

Sorig Khang Singapore was established in 2008 as a non-profit society in order to ensure the integrity and authenticity of Sowa Rigpa teachings and to promote the continuity of practice of Sowa Rigpa. Sowa Rigpa is a science and an art, dating back to antiquity. One of the unique features of Sowa Rigpa is that it is generally practiced alongside of the Buddhist philosophy. Sowa Rigpa contains a comprehensive philosophy, cosmology, and system of subtle anatomy with associated spiritual practices, in its own right.

In addition, Sowa Rigpa encompasses a wealth of knowledge on anatomy and physiology, embryology, pathology, methods of diagnosis and cure. Sowa Rigpa is a holistic system, meaning that it addresses the individual’s needs as a whole – body, energy and mind – in an integrated way. This includes the individual’s internal environment, as well as the way that the individual interacts with the external environment. It is the sincere aim of Sorig Khang to keep the spirit of Sowa Rigpa alive and functioning effectively in the modern world. Traditional Tibetan & Himalayan Medicine has the capacity to be of great benefit to all in the current economic and social climate.
